Brown Bottling Group Nominated for Highest Pepsi Award
Bill Brown, President and CEO of Brown Bottling Group, Inc., announced today the selection of Brown Bottling Group as one of four finalists for the 2006 Donald M. Kendall Bottler of the Year Award. “The Kendall Award is the highest honor in the Pepsi-Cola North America bottling system,” said Bill Brown. “Brown Bottling was selected as a nominee from over 300 Pepsi-Cola franchises in the United States and Canada. It’s a tremendous honor.”
Over the past three years, Brown Bottling has grown its Pepsi business with a per-capita annual growth rate of nearly 10% each year. The franchise has continued to build the business segment-by-segment, delivering consistent growth in non-carbs as well as the increasingly challenging diet and regular CSD categories. Brown Bottling has the highest per-capita growth of any domestic Pepsi franchise over the past four years.
According to Bill Brown, “Our nomination as a finalist for the Kendall Award means that our organization exemplifies excellence of the highest order in marketplace execution, extraordinary salesmanship and a commitment to product quality and delivery. I am extremely proud of everyone in our franchise and believe that the way we bounced back from the devastation left behind in the wake of Hurricane Katrina really made people within the Pepsi system stand up and take notice. Our employees are dedicated, hard-working people who get stronger every year. I am extremely proud of each and every one of them.”
Named for PepsiCo’s co-founder and former chairman, the Donald M. Kendall Bottler of the Year award is a highly coveted prize. Nominees for the award demonstrate extraordinary overall excellence on a daily basis and have built the company’s trademarks through long term business growth while developing strong relationships and reputations with their customers and within their communities.
Brown Bottling will be formally recognized for its remarkable achievements during the national bottler meeting that will be held in Dallas, Texas on September 18-20. The overall winner of the 2006 Bottler of the Year Award will be formally announced at that time.
